AFC Divisional Playoffs: Chargers vs. NY Jets

January 11, 2010 by Chargers

Unfortunately, the New England Patriots were spanked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens, leaving the San Diego Chargers to face the New York Jets in the AFC Divisional playoffs. This is unfortunate because the Chargers sure have some pay back against the Patriots! That payback will have to wait another year as the Jets are coming to town the Sunday!

Let’s take a deeper look at this Chargers-Jets Match-up. First of all, since 2001 the Charges have a slight edge, with a 3-2 record against the San Diego Chargers. The last game they played was on 9/22, with the Charger beating the Jets 48-29 in San Diego. The last time the Jets beat the chargers was back in January of 2005 during the playoffs in San Diego. But that is the past, the Chargers and Jets may have the same team names as before, but their representative squads are vastly different. We have the hard nosed running and #1 defense in the Jets vs the high powered Offense of the Chargers.

I feel this is one of the best playoff matches and should be a touch physical game.
